How to Weed Proof Flower Beds

Finding a way to weed proof flower beds was a constant struggle for me until I found the Perm-A-Mulch pathways, which I discovered last spring when I decided to try something new.

I was getting really tired of having to weed my flower beds every time I stepped outside. It was taking the joy out of gardening for me simply because I would rather focus on planting and feeding my plants & flowers, instead of weeding or pulling grass from my flower beds.

The Perm-A-Mulch Pathway

I purchased a few rolls of the roll out Perm-A-Mulch Pathway and I started with a small garden on my side of my house as a test site.

That was over a year ago and I am thrilled to be able to say that I have been very pleased with the results! A full year later and there is still no grass or weeds coming up through the perm-a-mulch. I simply could not be happier with this product.

Two weeks ago, I ordered enough of the Perm-A-Mulch Pathways to cover my entire back flower bed. One note of difference. When I started to lay the new shipment of Perm-a-Mulch, I noted that the backing is not glued to the entire bottom surface of the tire mulch top. It is attached at either end, but hangs loose across the center length of the pathway. Since this is the plastic layer between the ground and the top walking surface, I don’t anticipate it being a problem, but I did want to note the difference between the products actually shipped this year.

I love gardening and I love being able to enjoy the beauty of my garden with weeds and encroaching grass.

That perm-a-mulch got me interested as like you I’m tired of having to do the weeding more than anything else and given the fact that rain is far more present than sun and heat in my area, weeds are growing like… well, weeds. And I definitely need to find a solution to protect my flowers and other ornamental plants from that invasion.

OK, you got me! I was holding out not sure if this thing really worked, but after a year of testing – well, it’s just got to be worth it! I’m ready to mow over my flower beds. Way too many weeds and grass. But now I think I can keep them using perm-a-mulch.

  4. That does look like a practical solution to weeds!!
